Will Wade dropped an interesting nugget in his post-game presser about Paul McNeil Jr. Here is what he had to say…

He texted me that he’d been dreaming about having a breakout game. We were texting last night. So when he came out, I told him, I said, ‘Boy, your dreams came true.’

McNeil dropped a career high 27 points on 8-16 shooting, going 6-13 from 3pt range (he also added 5 rebounds). The sophomore guard is NC State’s only returning scholarship player from last year, a season where he only averaged 8 minutes per game and just 4 points per game for a Kevin Keatts team that won just 12 games all season.

P2, as he’s known to his teammates, is now 2nd on the team in scoring, averaging 20.3ppg and shooting an elite 46% from 3pt range.

Wade also added, “He works so hard and does everything that you want him to do and is just a great person, and he’s really grown off the court, which has allowed him to grow on the court. And so just extremely, extremely proud of him and pleased to see that he could see his hard work pay off.”
