DJ Burns was chatting up 5-Star PG Deron Rippey Jr during his visit on Friday

While Pack fans were busy watching the new look Wolfpack dismantle UAB on Friday night, 5-star Deron Rippey Jr was sitting court side on his official visit. While he was down there, NC State legend DJ Burns stopped by to chat him up. 247 reporter Charlie Gribble caught the interaction and posted it to X.

Our coaches are great recruiters, but a legend who has been to NC State and found success at NC State offers a perspective they can’t. Burns has now been in attendance at both of the Pack’s first two games.

Rippey is the #15 ranked player in the country and in my opinion, the PG with the highest ceiling. This was his final official visit and he’ll be soon trimming down his list (NC State expects to make that list).
