Back in March, Will Wade signed a 6-year, $17.25 million contract with NC State to become the Wolfpack’s head coach.
Wade’s base salary started at $2.5 million this season and will increase by $150,000 each year throughout the deal.
However, Wade’s contract is also loaded with incentives, giving him the opportunity to earn up to $2 million annually in additional bonuses.
Here’s a look at the bonuses Wade has already activated this season.
Bonuses Already Activated
Wade earned a $37,500 bonus for winning 10 conference games or 18 regular-season games.
If NC State had reached 12 conference wins or 20 regular-season wins, that bonus would have increased to $75,000.
Wade also activated a $5,000 bonus for making the ACC Tournament.
That bonus increased to $10,000 by making an appearance in the 2nd round against Pitt. After the Wolfpack’s win over the Panthers, the bonus increased to $25,000 for advancing to the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals against Virginia.
If NC State defeats Virginia, that bonus would increase again to $50,000.
Even though Selection Sunday is only days away, NC State’s win over Pitt may have locked in an at-large berth in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
If the Wolfpack earns a spot in the First Four, Wade would receive a $50,000 bonus. If NC State instead lands directly in the Round of 64, that bonus increases to $75,000.
