Sommerville also reported interest from a long list of programs, including Syracuse, Wake Forest, Nebraska, Rutgers, TCU, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, UCF, Cal, Oregon State, UNLV, Loyola Chicago, Grand Canyon, High Point, East Carolina, and Pepperdine.
He transferred to Florida State this past offseason after beginning his career at UMass Lowell men’s basketball.
In his lone season at Florida State, Sommerville averaged 8.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while playing 26 minutes per contest. He started 10 of 33 games and shot 33.6% from the field.
Prior to that, Sommerville made an immediate impact as a freshman at UMass Lowell, earning America East Freshman of the Year honors. He averaged 13.6 points, 3.7 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 42% from the field and an impressive 40.5% from three-point range, knocking down 75 triples.
His early production and shooting ability continue to draw interest from programs across the country as he looks for his next opportunity.
