Middle Tennessee Transfer Forward Torey Alston Schedules Official Visit to NC State

Middle Tennessee transfer forward Torey Alston (6’9”, 220 pounds) will take an official visit to NC State on Thursday, according to Dushawn London of 247Sports.

Alston’s recruitment is picking up steam. He previously visited Mississippi State and is currently on an official visit at VCU.

He’s coming off a strong sophomore season at Middle Tennessee, where he averaged 13.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 55.5% from the field. His performance earned him Third Team All-Conference USA honors after being named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team the year prior.

Alston was a major difference-maker for the Blue Raiders, leading the team in rebounds while ranking second in both scoring and blocks. He started all 32 games this season.

A North Carolina native, Alston is originally from Durham and played his high school basketball at Winston-Salem Christian School.

Both 247Sports and On3 rate Alston as a 3-star transfer prospect. On3 ranks him as the No. 223 overall player in the portal and the No. 55 power forward, while 247Sports lists him at No. 207 overall and No. 41 at his position.

Alston will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
