NC State has Reached out to Arkansas State Transfer 7’0″ Forward Aly Tounkara

According to reports, NC State has reached out to Arkansas State transfer forward Aly Tounkara (7’0”, 225 pounds).


Tounkara is drawing interest from several programs, including Boston College, New Mexico State, Memphis, USF, Western Kentucky, Charlotte, Virginia Tech, and BYU, among others.

He spent this past season at Arkansas State after transferring from Lindenwood. In his lone year with the Red Wolves, Tounkara averaged 4.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game in 18.2 minutes, while shooting an efficient 62.9% from the field. He started 21 of 32 games.

As a freshman at Lindenwood, Tounkara averaged 3.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game, shooting 60.3% from the field.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Tounkara brings size, efficiency, and developing upside as programs evaluate frontcourt depth options in the portal.
