NC State’s 2024 Football Recruiting Class Ranks 27th After Wright Commitment

Published

on

Yesterday, Junior College Linebacker Wyatt Wright committed to NC State, giving the Wolfpack 23 members in their 2024 recruiting class. 247Sports ranks NC State’s 2024 class 27th currently, and 5th in the ACC.

Junior College commitments count towards a school’s Annual Recruiting Class, which is predominantly made up of High School Seniors. Transfers from 4-year colleges don’t count towards the Annual Recruiting Class rankings, in the traditional sense.

Rivals ranks the Wolfpack’s class 29th, and ON3 ranks it 32nd.

Transfers might not count towards these rankings, but the Wolfpack’s 8-man 2024 Transfer Class currently ranks 5th.

It will be curious to see if State and other P5 schools will settle on a ratio of traditional recruits versus transfers. As of today, it’s nearly a 3:1 ratio of traditionals to transfers. My guess is that you’d want that ratio to be lower, like 2.5 or even 2.0

While you’ll likely get the traditional guys for longer periods of time, you get more certainty with the transfers. Porter Rooks was a 4-star recruit but there hasn’t been that type of production on the field from him. Grimes will likely be a big upgrade.
