On Field of 64 today, Jeff Goodman fielded questions about where uncommitted prospects in the Transfer Portal might land. When asked where he thought Memphis All-American Transfer Guard PJ Haggerty (6’3″/191) would land, he was quick to say NC State.

You can read what he had to say below, and watch the video underneath beginning at the 59:29 mark.

What are you hearing about PJ Haggerty? What could be the ultimate destination for him?

Goodman: NC State. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t end up there. He’s going through the process at this point. His recruitment process kind of slowed down as he decided, and his dad is running his whole deal there. ‘Let’s go through the NBA Draft process, and then we’ll kind of make an announcement soon after.’ I would think, like, it would be, honestly, one of the most ill-advised decisions for PJ Haggerty to stay in the NBA Draft, when he’s got good money coming to him, likely at NC State. Go back. Play for Will Wade. It will be a good backcourt, with (Tre) Holloman and him. That’s an easy one for me.

This past season, Haggerty earned Consensus 2nd Team All-American honors, averaging 21.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals for the Tigers. Haggerty was named the 2025 AAC Player of the Year. In his third year of college ball, Haggerty improved his outside shot, making 36.4% from three.

The year before, he averaged 21.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals with Tulsa, earning 3rd Team All-AAC honors.

Haggerty redshirted his first collegiate season at TCU.

247Sports ranks him as a 5-Star Transfer Portal prospect, the #2 overall player to enter the Portal and the #1 Point Guard. Haggerty is the highest ranked player currently in the Portal according to 247Sports’ rankings. ON3 ranks him as the #5 overall player to enter the Transfer Portal, and the #1 Shooting Guard.

Haggerty has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
