NC State’s secondary comes into this season as the most experienced secondary in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Between FS Hakim Jones, CB Juston Burris, SS Josh Jones, and CB Jack Tocho, the four of them combine for 83 career starts.

Last season, NC State’s defense ranked as one of the worst in the ACC. The Wolfpack gave up 27 points per game, which ranked second-to-last in the ACC. They also gave up 373.1 total yards per game, ranking 10th in the conference.

With that being said, this experienced secondary was the bright(er) spot in the Wolfpack defense. NC State ranked 2nd in the league with 13 interceptions.

The youngest of the bunch might be the most impressive of the bunch. Last season as a Freshman, SS Josh Jones was 2nd in the ACC in interceptions with 4. He ranked 5th on the team in tackles with 56, and 2nd in pass deflections with 11. Jones was a CFN Honorable Mention Freshman All-American.

Junior CB Jack Tocho led the Wolfpack with 11 pass deflections and ranked 7th in the ACC. He also ranked 8th on State’s defense in tackles with 40.

NC State returns their leading tackler from last season in Senior FS Hakim Jones. Senior CB Juston Burris tallied 29 tackles and 6 pass deflections.
