EA SPORTS College Football 27 is set to release on July 9, and yesterday the overall team ratings were unveiled, including offensive and defensive ratings.

NC State received an overall rating of 79, which is tied for 52nd nationally and ranks tied for 10th in the ACC.

Offensive Rating

NC State received an offensive rating of 81, which ranks tied for eighth in the ACC.

With junior quarterback CJ Bailey returning for his third season as the starter, I’m optimistic the Wolfpack outshoots their rating here.

Defensive Rating

The defensive side of the ball is where EA Sports clearly has concerns.

The Wolfpack received a defensive rating of 77, which is tied for the lowest mark in the ACC alongside Duke.

Considering NC State lost several key contributors from last year’s defense and enters the season with a number of new faces expected to play major roles, EA Sports is projecting a significant step back on that side of the ball.

Here’s to hoping DJ Eliot and his crew can prove the projections wrong.

Miami – 86
Clemson – 86
UVA – 83
Louisville – 82
FSU – 81
