NC State 2016 wide receiver prospect Kelvin Harmon, who camped at NC State last Saturday, trimmed his list to 6 teams on Wednesday night.  We talked with him yesterday, and broke down what he likes about each of the six schools.
“They show a lot of love. I’ve been up there a lot of times. I talk to one of the coaches almost every day and I have a real good connection with them. I also like the campus up there.”
NC State
“I really like the facilities and the dorms. Coach McDonald coached me really well at camp, and I really liked Coach Doeren. He seems different than other head coaches.  They seem to have a really good coaching staff there. The receiver depth is something that appeals to me as well, because I would have the chance to play the first year or so.”
South Carolina
“One of the main reasons I am interested is that I played 7-on-7 in the Spring with one of their 2016 commitments, and have a real good connection with him. I also have a good connection with Coach Mangus. He’s been recruiting me for like a year now. I also like Coach Spurrier Jr. the receivers coach. They are also a winning football team. I like their tradition.”
“I like them because their coaching staff seems really fired up. They have big goals for he future, and seem like a team that could get on a roll.”
West Virginia
“I like them because this is my only offer for defense to play Safety. If I ended up deciding to play Safety, I could at West Virginia.  They are in the Big Twelve and are a big football team.
“The campus is very beautiful.  They also have a legendary receivers coach in Coach Brewer. He’s coached a lot of great players.”
He also had this to say about his experience at NC State camp.
“It was a good camp.  At some camps the coaches kind of schmooze you to get you to come play there.  The NC State coaches were just serious about coaching me and pushing me,” Harmon said.  “I like that.  Coach Doreen just sat down with me and talked with me.  He seems to really care about his players.”
Harmon said that he plans on making all 5 of his official visits before making his final decision.

Walk through the visit. What did you do? Where did you go? Who did you meet?

I went to NC State I ate with the coaches and hung out with the players. I met a couple of the players like Red Hibbler.

What was the message from the coaches to you?

That I will get on the field early.

How do you think NC State might be a good fit for you?

At my high school we run the same defense.

What was your favorite part?

Just being around the coaches and players. Getting to know each other and asking the players questions.

Where does NC State stand in your recruitment? What do you like about the Wolfpack?

NC State is up there. It’s a family environment.

Do you have any other visits scheduled?

My next 2 are Alabama and Arkansas.
