Here is a breakdown of how all of the former NC State football players have done in Week 2 of the NFL preseason.  Quite a few players are set to play today, tomorrow and Monday, and I will update this thread when each of those games is finished.

Quarterbacks

QB Mike Glennon completed 10 of his 15 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs 25-11 victory over the Bengals on Monday night.  His QB rating on the night was 113.5.

QB Russell Wilson completed 9 of his 15 passes for 78 yards in the Seahawks 14-13 loss to the Chiefs on Friday night.

QB Philip Rivers didn’t play in the Chargers 22-19 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Defensive Backs

CB Dontae Johnson had 3 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 1 interception in the 49ers 23-6 victory over the Cowboys on Sunday night.  Check out this video of Johnson’s interception:

CB David Amerson started in the Redskins 21-17 victory over the Lions on Thursday night, and had 1 pass deflection.

Linebackers

LB Stephen Tulloch has started in 2 consecutive preseason games for the Lions, and had 3 tackles on Thursday night against the Redskins in a 21-17 loss.
LB Manny Lawson started in his 2nd consecutive preseason game for the Bills, and recorded 1 tackle in their 11-10 win over the Browns on Thursday.

LB Terrell Manning saw action as a reserve in the Falcons 30-22 loss to the Jets on Friday, but didn’t record any stats.

LB Willie Young played in the Bears 23-11 victory over the Colts on Saturday, but didn’t record any stats.

LB Audie Cole played in the Vikings 20-12 victory over the Raiders on Saturday, but didn’t record any stats.

LB Nate Irving didn’t play in the Colts 23-11 loss to the Bears on Saturday.  He hasn’t played in both preseason games so far.  Irving is still recovering from knee surgery, and his been limited in practice.

Defensive Line

DE Mario Williams started in the Bills 11-10 victory over the Browns on Thursday, and recorded 1 tackle.

DT T.Y. McGill had 2 tackles (1 tackle for loss) in the Seahawks 14-13 loss to the Chiefs on Friday night.

DT Markus Kuhn started in the Giants 22-12 victory over the Jaguars on Saturday, but didn’t record any stats.

 

Wide Receivers

WR Tobais Palmer had one reception for 12 yards in the Bills 11-10 victory over the Browns on Thursday night.  He was targeted a total of 2 times.

WR T.J. Graham had one reception for 10 yards in the Jets 30-22 victory over the Falcons on Friday night.

WR Jerricho Cotchery did play in the Panthers 31-30 victory over the Dolphins on Saturday, but didn’t record any stats.

Offensive Line

G J.R. Sweezy started for the Seattle Seahawks on Friday night in a 14-13 loss to the Chiefs.

G Ted Larsen started for the Cardinals on Saturday night in a 22-19 loss to the Chargers.

T Tyson Chandler saw action in the Bills 11-10 victory over the Browns on Thursday.

T Rob Crisp didn’t play in the Cardinals 22-19 loss to the Chargers on Saturday.  He has missed the first two preseason games to injury.

Kickers

K Steven Hauschka was connected on both of his field goal (39 & 27) and extra point attempts in the Seahawks 14-13 loss to the Chiefs on Friday night.

Running Backs

RB Tony Creecy didn’t play in the Patriots 26-24 victory over the Saints on Saturday.

 

Monday Schedule 

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Mike Glennon) 8pm

The Charlotte Hornets held their first 2023 NBA Draft Workout yesterday, and NC State’s Jarkel Joiner was 1 of the 6 players in attendance.

Joiner earned 2nd Team All-ACC honors in his single season at NC State, averaging 17.0 points per game. He is expecting to attend a couple of more workouts. Joiner is projected as a late 2nd round pick, or as an undrafted free agent signee.

NC State’s Trea Turner is En Fuego Heading into WBC Championship

Former NC State All-American Shortstop Trea Turner has been en fuego representing the United States in the World Baseball Classic. He has helped lead the United States to the finals against Japan, which begins tonight at 7pm.

Turner currently is batting .368 through 5 games. Four of his seven hits have been home runs, which leads all batters in the World Baseball Classic.

Former NC State C Garrett Bradbury Signs 3-Year Deal with the Vikings

Former NC State All-American Center Garrett Bradbury has re-signed with the Vikings on a 3-year deal worth $15.75 million.

Bradbury just wrapped up his 4-year Rookie contract worth $13 million. The Vikings decided not to pick up his 5th year option prior to last season, but they decided to go ahead and re-sign Bradbury, who has been their starter since entering the league.

Former NC State WR Jakobi Meyers Signs 3-Year Deal with Las Vegas

Former NC State Wide Receiver Jakobi Meyers got paid yesterday, signing a 3-year deal with the Raiders worth $33 million, with $21 million of it guaranteed.

After going undrafted, Meyers signed with New England, and has been with the Pats the past 4 seasons. Last year was the first year that Meyers made over $1 million, earning $3.986 million on a 1-year contract. Now he will average $11 million a season over the next three years in Vegas.

Over 4 seasons, Meyers has 235 receptions for 2,758 yards and 8 touchdown receptions. Meyers earned this pay day, leading the Pats in receiving yards for the past three seasons consecutively.
