NC State’s annual Red & White Men’s Basketball intrasquad scrimmage is called the “Tailgate Tipoff” this season, and will be played on an outdoor court prior to the NC State vs. Louisville football game on October 3rd.  The NC State Men’s Basketball coaches are trying to get as many of their top recruiting targets there as they can, but the 12:30 kickoff time for the football game might have thrown a wrench in the plans of a couple of the prospects.

5-star 2017 Small Forward Brian Bowen and 4-star 2017 Power Forward Xavier Tillman were planning on attending the event, but due the fact that the scrimmage will be in the morning, it will likely be too early for them to get a flight in.  Bowen and Tillman are the top two players in the state of Michigan in the 2017 recruiting class.

The NC State coaches had a great visit with Tillman earlier this week, but were unable to make it to see Bowen.  They are planning on rescheduling that visit.

The time of the NC State Tailgate Tipoff hasn’t been officially released yet, but I’m hearing that the tipoff could be around 10:30 in the morning.  Regardless, make sure to go ahead and clear your calendar for the morning of October 3rd.  These two prospects probably won’t be in attendance, but I’m expecting some of the top prospects in the nation to be there.  October 3rd could be a big day for the future of NC State basketball.
