Tonight NC State defeated South Alabama 63-13 to improve to 4-0 on the year.  The Wolfpack has now won 7 straight games, and they have also won 5 straight games away from Carter-Finley Stadium.  NC State has only won 5 straight road games 2 other times in the history of the program (73-74/62-63).

Notes

Josh Jones led the Wolfpack defense with 6 tackles, and this is the second game he has done so.

-NC State has held their opponent to under 50 yards rushing in three straight games.

-The Wolfpack defense has had a difficult time giving up the chunk play this season, and South Alabama has been great at giving them out.  The Jaguars had 4 plays of 30+ yards or more, but three of them came in the first quarter.  After that the Wolfpack defense began to settle in.

-NC State held South Alabama to an average of 1.7 yards per carry.

-The Wolfpack only allowed USA to convert 3 of their 15 Third Down opportunities.  

-NC State created a season high 3 turnovers on defense, scoring a touchdown after each one.

-The Wolfpack held USA Quarterback Cody Clements to a 42% completion percentage.
