NC State Men’s Basketball inked another solid piece to the puzzle yesterday as they gained the commitment of Ted Kapita. Hailing from the Congo, Kapita played most recently for the powerhouse Huntington Prep in West Virginia. Ranked as the 71st overall player in the 2015 class, Kapita gives Gottfried another athletic body to use down low. Gottfried described Kapita as a long versatile big man with a high motor, I cannot think of a more welcome addition to the Pack.

Standing at 6-10 and weighing around 240 pounds, he will give NC State some much needed young size that can grow into a bigger role during his time at NC State. In the video below many will see immense potential as Kapita has massive shoulders, excellent body control, and soft hands. It’s obvious that he has the type of frame that could carry more weight with ease, and could quickly benefit from a college weight training program.

In the highlights one thing that really stood out to me is how well Kapita runs the floor! If he can run the floor this well at the next level he could see some serious court time, especially playing with Dennis Smith Jr. Another positive for NC State is that they can now redshirt Lennard Freeman. With Kapita, NC State now has Yurtseven, Abu, Anya, and Hicks that can play down low.

Checkout the video of Kapita at the Nike Globe Challenge below. What do you think he will bring to the Pack next season?

NC State Offers Top-10 Forward Nate Ament

Published

on

NC State was in to watch 2025 Forward Nate Ament (6’8″/170) last week with Team Loaded on the Adidas AAU circuit, and the Wolfpack extended him a scholarship offer on the 20th.

Ament is a consensus Top-40 player in the 2025 recruiting class, with ON3 ranking him 10th overall. Rivals and ON3 both rank him as a 5-star player, and he is the consensus #1 player in the state of Virginia in his class.

He plays for Highland High School in Manassas, Virginia, where he averaged 19.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 3.7 assists per game last season.

Ament’s offer sheet is insane, holding offers from NC State, Virginia Tech, Duke, Iowa, Wake Forest, Virginia, Pitt, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Louisville, Tennessee, Ole Miss, FSU, Alabama, Texas and others.

NC State Offers 3-Star Small Forward Ryan Frost

Published

on

3-Star 2025 Small Forward Ryder Frost (6’6″/205) has received an offer from NC State.

247Sports ranks Frost as a 3-Star prospect, while the other databases have him as unranked (Rivals), or unlisted (ESPN & ON3). 247 ranks him as the #5 overall player in the state of Massachusetts in the 2025 recruiting class.

When it’s all said and done, I don’t expect Frost to be an unranked or unrated prospect by any database. He has been averaging 15 points and 8.2 rebounds for the Middlesex Magic in AAU ball in the Under Armour circuit this Spring, shooting 43% from three.

Sometimes everything can change in one day. Yesterday, after picking up an offer from Syracuse, Frost also picked up offers from Nebraska, Minnesota, Wake Forest, NC State, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. Prior to yesterday, Frost also held offers from West Virginia, Iowa, Penn State and others.

Frost looks to be one of the best three-point shooters in the nation in the 2025 recruiting class. He plays High School ball for Phillips Exeter in Exeter, New Hampshire.

Here’s a look at some highlights from his recent AAU circuit.

Here’s a look at Frost’s Junior Highlights at Exeter, where he helped lead them to the state title. He was named the Player of the Year in New Hampshire, averaging 21.6 point and 7.7 rebounds per game, shooting 44 percent from three, making 201 from beyond the arc.
