NC State Wearing BLACK HOWL Uni’s vs. Louisville

After wearing their ‘IRONWOLF’ uniforms on Miliary Appreciation Day this past Saturday against Syracuse, NC State will be unveiling their ‘BLACK HOWL’ alternate uniforms against Louisville this Thursday night at 8pm.

At Dave Doeren’s weekly press conference, he spoke in detail of the importance of the BLACK HOWL uniforms, as well as other alternate uniforms.

I think there’s two things with that. One of them is your current locker room. The guys like that. They like to have occasional changes and not just the same thing and to keep things fresh for our current players

From a recruiting standpoint, it’s always a hit. Every time we’ve had an alternative Jersey either announced or worn we’ve had a commitment almost that day or the next day. It does have an impact

It isn’t something that maybe some of the more traditional fans like, but it is a reality in today’s recruiting, it is reality in today’s youth… to keep things that way. We try to keep it as close to our brand as we can. I think if you look at this uniform you’ll see the lettering and trying to tie it into the wolf and different things like that, but I think it’s exciting for the young guys and it’s definitely helped us. On this past Saturday morning on SportsCenter, they broke down the Top 10 uniforms for Week 5, and the analyst couldn’t help himself, and highlighted the BLACK HOWL uniform, even though it will be worn in Week 6.
