3-Star OG Ikem Ekwonu Commits to NC State

3-star Offensive Guard Ikem Ekwonu (6’4″/290) just committed to NC State, becoming the 12th player in the Wolfpack’s 2019 recruiting class.

247Sports ranks Ekwonu (Providence Day School/Charlotte, NC) as the #19 Offensive Guard in the 2019 class, and the #16 overall player in the state of North Carolina. Ekwonu took an unofficial visit to NC State this past Thursday, and was originally offered a scholarship by the Wolfpack on February 13th.

Ekwonu chose NC State over offers from UNC, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and West Virginia.

Dave Doreen and the rest of the NC State coaching staff have done an incredible job recruiting the state of North Carolina thus far in 2019. Nine of the Twelve Wolfpack commitments are from the state of North Carolina.

NC State now has 4 offensive linemen commitments in 2019: Timothy McKay, Ikem Ekwonu, Dylan McMahon and Zovon Lindsay (In order of ranking according to 247Sports. All 4 are 3-star recruits.).
