NC State 2019 Football Commits Week 2 Report

This past weekend marked the second week of high school football. Here’s a breakdown of how NC State’s 2019 commits did.

4-Star Defensive End Savion Jackson and the Clayton Comets defeated the Rolesville Rams 34-30, picking up their first win of the season (1-1). Jackson had 8 tackles in the contest. Through 2 games, he has 15 tackles and 2 sacks.

4-Star Defensive Tackle Joshua Harris and the Person Rockets fell to the Northern Knights 6-21, bringing their record to 0-2. While I don’t have Harris’ defensive stats, he did have a 4-yard touchdown run, which were the only points Person scored all game.
4-Star Cornerback Shyheim Battle and the Rocky Mount Gryphons defeated the Conley Vikings 25-21, improving to 2-0 on the year. Battle had two interceptions in the contest.
4-Star Safety Khalid Martin and the East Forsyth Eagles (2-0) handed it to the Mount Tabor Spartans, to the tune of 35-14. Martin had 12 tackles, 1 pass breakup and 1 fumble recovery. Through 2 games, he has 22 tackles, 3 pass breakups, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 forced fumble.

3-Star Running Back Zonovan Knight and the Southern Nash Firebirds (2-0) crushed the Nash Central Bulldogs 55-20. Knight rushed for over 100 yards for the second week in a row, and picked up two more rushing touchdowns. He has 3 rushing touchdowns through 2 games.

3-star linebacker Drake Thomas and the Heritage Huskies (1-1) fell to the Middle Creek Mustangs 24-28. Thomas had a MONSTER performance in the loss. He had 16 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 1 interception returned for a touchdown. Through 2 games, Thomas has 20 tackles.

3-Star Offensive Guard Timothy McKay and the Wakefield Wolverines (1-1) trounced the Millbrook Huskies 31-9, picking up their first win of the season.

3-Star Linebacker Jaylon Scott and the Shelby Golden Lions picked up their first loss of the season, falling to A.C. Reynolds 14-17. Scott had 8 tackles and 1 blocked punt. Through 2 games, Scott has 12 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 1 blocked punt.

3-Star Offensive Guard Ikem Ekwonu and the Providence Day Chargers lost their second consecutive game, this time falling to Ridge View Blazers 7-33.

3-Star Offensive Tackle Triston Miller and the Charlotte Country Day Bucs rolled over the Carolina Pride 54-14, picking up their 1st win of the season.

3-Star Center Dylan McMahon and the Savannah Christian Raiders destroyed the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks 54-14, picking up their first win of the season.

3-Star Cornerback Jalen Frazier and the Hough Huskies decimated the Providence Panthers 48-10, to improve to 2-0 on the season. Frazier had 4 tackles, with one of them being for a loss. Through 2 games, Frazier has 11 tackles.

3-Star Defensive End Terrell Dawkins and the Cox Mill Chargers lost to the Huss Huskies 20-28, picking up their first loss of the year.

3-Star Wide Receiver Keyon Lesane and the Butler Bulldogs fell to the Mallard Creek Mavericks 28-36. Lesane was ejected in the final minute of the 1st half, picking up his 2nd personal foul. With that being said, in only 15 minutes of play, he caught a 70-yard pass, rushed for a touchdown and intercepted a pass.

3-Star Wide Receiver Chris Toudle sat out last week, but he was out on the field this week helping Hoggard (2-0) defeat Orange 34-7. Toudle had 2 receptions for 18 yards. He also had 1 rush for 11 yards.

3-Star Offensive Lineman Zovon Lindsay and the Providence Day Crusaders mowed over the Wake Christian Bulldogs 62-13, improving to 2-0 on the year.

3-Star Tight End Kam Walker and the Pisgah Bears defeated the Enka Jets 28-6 convincingly, to improve to 2-0 on the season.
