Freshman Anna Toohey was the hero last night for the #12 NC State Women’s Soccer team (6-0-1) scoring both Wolfpack goals in a 2-0 victory over George Washington.

Neither team scored in the first half, but Toohey changed that in the 58th minute, on an assist from Junior Kia Rankin.

Then a little over 20 minutes later Toohey put the ball in the net once again, this time on an assist from Junior Tziarra King and Senior Hannah Keogh. King ranks 2nd in the ACC in points per game, and is tied for 1st in goals.

The goals were the first of Toohey’s career.

Senior Goal Keeper Sydney Wooten picked up her 20th career shutout, which ranks 4th in school history.

NC State hasn’t been beaten at home in 14 straight matches, and haven’t lost in 9 straight regular season matches.

The Wolfpack will host Nebraska at 1pm.
