NC State has Taken the Lead for 4-Star 2019 SF Christian Brown

Published

on

According to the experts over at 247Sports, NC State has taken the lead for 2019 4-Star Small Forward Christian Brown (6’6″/210). In the Fall, Georgia was thought to hold the advantage, but 8 Crystal Ball predictions have come in over the past 4 days, and all of them project that Brown will eventually commit to run with the Wolfpack.

Those predictions come from some of the best 247Sports has to offer, including Director of Basketball Recruiting Evan Daniels, National Recruiting Analyst Brian Snow and National Recruiting Analyst Josh Gershon. In the history of the 247Sports Crystal Ball, all three of these guys have all been successful in their predictions over 91% of the time.

Brown transferred from Lower Richmond (Columbia, South Carolina) to the prestigious Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Virginia) for his Senior season.

NC State made Brown’s Top-7 back in May along with Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, UNLV, Seton Hall and Florida. He has already taken official visits to Georgia, Clemson and UNLV, with two more remaining.

With all of this buzz coming in all at once, I would be shocked if Brown didn’t take an official visit to NC State. It’s also buzzing around that a visit to Illinois could be in the works.

ESPN ranks Brown as the #58 overall player in the 2019 class.

5-Star F Josh Hall Sets Official Visit to NC State

Published

on

5-Star 2020 Forward Josh Hall (6’9″/190) has scheduled and Official Visit to NC State for the weekend of September 6th, which is the weekend the football team is hosting Western Carolina.

Hall has also scheduled an Official Visit to Louisville the week before.

Currently these are the only two Official Visit’s that Hall has on the books (you get a total of 5).

Hall was originally a member of the 2019 class, but reclassified to 2020.

The Wolfpack offered Hall back on April 3rd.

Rivals and 247Sports both list Hall as a Small Forward, and ESPN lists him as a Power Forward.

Hall plays for Moravian Prep in Hickory, North Carolina. ESPN and 247Sports both rank him as the #3 player in the state of North Carolina in 2020.

Rivals ranks him as the #25 player overall nationally in 2020.

Check out the conversation that I had with Hall shortly after picking up an offer from the Wolfpack.

PI EXLCUSIVE: Nick Farrar Talks NC State Commitment

Published

on

3-Star 2020 Power Forward Nick Farrar verbally committed to NC State on Wednesday, and I caught up with him to get his take on his reasons for choosing to run with the Wolfpack.

Making his college decision on August 7th wasn’t random for Farrar. He coordinated this with Coach Keatts, so he could commit on the anniversary of his mother’s death, who passed away when he was 7 years old.

“I had talked to Coach Keatts about the offer and committing for a while, so it wasn’t really early. It was just something we had planned to do for the day my mother passed.”

Farrar is a local talent (Apex Friendship High School), growing up with the dilemma of which Triangle squad to pull for. At an early age he made the wrong decision, but eventually saw the light.

“I started out with UNC, but it wasn’t long before I fell in love with NC State.”

Wolfpack Head Coach Kevin Keatts has been straight up with Farrar, and he appreciates that.

Coach Keatts is straight up with how he feels about my game, what I’m good at, and what I need to work on. The program is great, and I know a lot of staff and players as well.

Keatts has encouraged Farrar to continue to work on toning his body, and developing his right hand.

Farrar is a stretch 4, which is a body type that thrives in Keatts’ offense.

“I think State works well with undersized 4’s. With good guard skills and post up skills, I would be a good fit in that system, being an inside-out guy.”
