New Orleans Doesn’t Pick up Former NC State G Dereon Seabron’s Qualifying Offer…Added to Chicago’s Summer League Team

The New Orleans Pelicans declined to pick up former All-ACC NC State Guard Dereon Seabron’s Qualifying Offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Seabron has found a spot on the Chicago Bulls Summer League Roster, which starts tomorrow.

After going undrafted in 2022, Seabron has played the past two seasons as a 2-Way player in the New Orleans Pelicans’ system. Over the past two years, Seabron has played a total of 11 games in the NBA, spending most of his time with New Orleans’ G-League Affiliate team, the Birmingham Squadron.

Seabron has been a standout in the G-League for Birmingham. This past season, he averaged 18.4 points, 6.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in 28 games.
