Raleigh’s first ‘Raising Cane’s’ opening along NC State’s Hillsborough St (next to Mitch’s Tavern)

UPDATE: Raising Cane’s is almost ready to roll…

According to Raleigh Magazine, NC State’s Hillsborough St is about to get Raleigh’s first ‘Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers’ location. (The images above is photoshopped.)

Some people are going to be ecstatic, while others are going to shrug their shoulders. Raising Cane’s has taken over the nation with their fried chicken fingers, but they’ve stayed out of this market until now.

My guess would be that this market has too much competition. Chick-Fil-A, Bojangles, Popeyes, Zaxbys.

According to filing, it looks like they plan to renovate the old theatre space which most recently housed Umami Asian Bistro. Prior to that it was H Street Kitchen, which used to be Hillsborough St. Textbooks, which used to be a McDonalds, which used to be, in 1983, an adult theatre.

Now it’s going to be a fried chicken joint. NC State students are about to have their pick of the litter when it comes to chicken finges.
