We’re excited to have Michael O’Connell join the Criolla squad starting today. O’Connell is coming off a great performance at NC State, and we’re confident his versatility, defense, and energy will help us. Welcome Michael to the pressure!

According to another tweet, O’Connell will report this Sunday. Criollos is five games into their season.

Criollos went 19-15 last season and won the BSN Championship in 2024 for the second time in program history.

O’Connell played his final two collegiate seasons at NC State. He will always be remembered for his buzzer-beating three-pointer in the 2024 ACC Championship against Virginia, which sent the game to overtime. The Wolfpack went on to win the game, miraculously capturing their first ACC Championship since 1987, and advanced to their first Final Four since 1983.

In two seasons in Raleigh, O’Connell averaged 6.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists.
