Duke Scott’s Rushing Outburst in NC State’s Win Over #8 Georgia Tech was Historic

Redshirt Freshman Running Back Duke Scott rushed for 196 yards on 24 carries in NC State’s 48-36 win over #8 Georgia Tech last night, averaging 8.2 yards per carry. His 30-yard touchdown run with 4 minutes left in the game gave the Wolfpack an 18-point lead.

Scott’s 196 yards is tied for the 11th most rushing yards in a single game in program history, tying Nyheim Hines’ 196 yards against UNC in 2017.

The other Running Back to rush for 196+ yards under Dave Doeren is Reggie Gallaspy Jr., who rushed for 220 yards against ECU in 2018, which is tied for the 4th most rushing yards in a single game in school history.

Scott’s 196-yard outburst is the 6th most rushing yards in NC State history by a Freshman.
