Sowells Jr. has played in 9 games this season for the Wolfpack. After playing in his first three appearances as a reserve, Sowells Jr. has served as the starting Right Guard in his last 6 appearances.

His Overall PFF Grade for the season is 68.4, which is the 2nd highest grade on NC State’s Offensive Line, sitting one spot behind Redshirt Junior Jacarrius Peak.

Sowells Jr. is the first True Freshman to start a game on the Offensive Line for the Wolfpack since Ickey Ekwonu in 2019.

Spike was the highest ranked player in NC State’s 2025 recruiting class according to Rivals, ranking the 4-Star prospect as the #145 overall player nationally, the #9 Interior Offensive Lineman and the #1 player in the state of Kentucky.
