NC State and South Carolina Cancel Future Home-and-Home Series

NC State and South Carolina have agreed to cancel their future home-and-home football series as a result of both conferences expanding to nine-game conference schedules.

The Wolfpack were scheduled to travel to Columbia in 2030, with the Gamecocks set to return the trip to Raleigh in 2031.

This cancellation creates an immediate ripple effect for NC State’s long-term scheduling.

Under ACC rules, each school is required to play at least one Power 4 opponent in non-conference play every season. With South Carolina no longer on the schedule in 2030, the Wolfpack will now need to find a replacement Power 4 opponent for that season.

As things currently stand, NC State has only one non-conference game scheduled in 2030 – a home matchup against UNC Charlotte.

The good news is that 2031 remains compliant with conference requirements. Despite losing South Carolina that year, NC State is still scheduled to play at Notre Dame, which counts as a Power 4 opponent. The Wolfpack will also travel to UNC Charlotte in 2031.
