Four-star defensive lineman Joseph “Buc” Buchanan (6’4”/270) has scheduled an Official Visit to Raleigh for May 8–10, giving the Wolfpack an opportunity to make a strong early impression on one of the top defensive prospects in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Buchanan is a consensus 4-star prospect in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
According to 247Sports, he ranks as:
- No. 139 overall player nationally
- No. 16 defensive lineman in the country
- No. 4 overall player in the state of Maryland
At 6’4” and 270 pounds, Buchanan already has the frame and physicality college programs covet along the defensive front.
NC State extended an offer on January 23rd, and the Wolfpack quickly secured an official visit. That’s no small task considering the national attention Buchanan has received.
He holds offers from a long list of Power programs, including:
