There will be no surprises with Caleb Wilson, as he’s officially listed out for tonight’s game vs. NC State.

Carolina listed five players on their report, with seldom-used James Brown and Ivan Matlekovic both out as well.

The other big news is that Henri Veesaar is also listed as questionable. With Wilson out, losing Veesaar would be catastrophic for the Heels.

Meanwhile, NC State will be without bench piece Colt Langdon, but is also listing Scottie Ebube as questionable. This matters since you are playing UNC, and historically, there have been quick whistles in the paint against NC State bigs. If Veesaar plays, they will feature him, and that will put pressure on Ven-Allen Lubin. If he gets into foul trouble, NC State does not have much depth in the front court.

As for the loss of Caleb Wilson. It matters…

Here is how the stats are impacted for UNC when Wilson is not on the floor.

Adjusted offensive efficiency dropped 17 spots.

On the efficiency metrics side, effective field goal percentage (EFG%) declined 21 spots in the rankings.

Turnover percentage (TO%) dropped 15 spots.

Offensive rebound percentage (OR%) took a significant hit, falling 176 spots.

Free-throw rate (FTR) also decreased sharply by 154 spots.

However, three-point shooting percentage (3pt%) improved, rising 31 spots in the rankings, while two-point shooting percentage (2pt%) worsened, dropping 23 spots.

And here is how NC State matches up against a ‘No-Wilson’ UNC team.
