Sorry, I know we are supposed to be fully engaged on the Will Wade saga and the NC State coaching search, but this one was too good to pass up.

Rick Pitino took a shot at the blue bloods today.

The St. John’s coach met with the media before their Sweet 16 matchup with Duke and dropped this atomic bomb that is sure to rile up a Tar Heel fanbase that is currently praying for Brad Stevens to come save them.

Pitino explains that what we’re watching today in college is pro ball, free agency. No one is going to Kentucky for their storied history or their facilities anymore. They are going for a coach and a check.

A sad reality that I usually hate talking about, but when you put it in these terms, I don’t mind it.
