According to reports, Kehmare Holmes (6’3, 205lbs) of Wofford has heard from NC State.

Kahmare Holmes is an All-Southern Conference First Team guard and emerged as one of the league’s top scorers for the Terriers last season. He started all 26 games and averaged 19.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and a team-leading 1.9 steals per game. He shot 48.3% from the field, 35.2% from three-point range, and 65.5% from the free-throw line. Holmes reached the 20-point mark in 15 games, which was the most by a Wofford player since Fletcher Magee in 2018.

His most impressive performance came on January, when he dropped a career-high 36 points in a win over Samford. Later that week, Holmes was named SoCon Player of the Week after averaging 31.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while shooting 55.6% from the field. In the SoCon Tournament quarterfinal against UNC Greensboro, he led Wofford with 24 points.

As a freshman in 2024-25, Holmes appeared in 28 games off the bench, averaging 4.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures three times and played in the NCAA Tournament against Tennessee that season.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Holmes is expected to draw significant interest from higher-major programs. He is ranked among the top transfers in the 2026 portal class.

What is his connection to NC State?

I think this is a guy who is playing at a very high level and is ready to make the jump to a high-major. He’s a Charlotte kid playing down the road in Spartanburg, SC. If he wants to stay close to home, NC State would check that box.
