According to a source, Texas Tech transfer forward Luke Bamgboye (6’11”, 220 pounds) will take an official visit to NC State this weekend.

One thing is clear, somebody is going to land a rim protector with real upside when Bamgboye makes his decision.

Bamgboye made his mark early in his career at VCU, where he earned a spot on both the Atlantic 10 All-Freshman Team and All-Defensive Team during the 2024–25 season. He averaged 2.1 blocks per game while also contributing 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per game, starting 24 of 35 contests.

He transferred to Texas Tech this past offseason, where he continued to show flashes of his defensive impact. In 21 games (12 starts), Bamgboye averaged 4.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 16.8 minutes per game.

Coming out of high school, Bamgboye was rated as a 4-star prospect (ESPN) and ranked as the No. 9 player in the state of Arizona.

At the transfer level, he is currently viewed as a 3-star prospect. Rivals ranks him as the No. 315 overall player in the portal and the No. 73 power forward.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Bamgboye offers a combination of length, defensive instincts, and long-term upside, making him an intriguing option as NC State evaluates frontcourt additions.
