NC State has Reached Out to St. John’s Transfer Guard Joson Sanon

According to reports, NC State has reached out to St. John’s transfer guard Jason Sanon (6’5”, 200 pounds).

Sam Kayser reports that Sanon is drawing significant interest across the country, also hearing from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, Oregon, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Georgetown, and Texas.

Sanon spent this past season at St. John’s after transferring from Arizona State. As a sophomore, he averaged 7.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 20.9 minutes per game, starting 14 contests. He shot 33.8% from the field and 33.6% from three-point range.

His freshman season at Arizona State showed a higher offensive ceiling. Sanon averaged 11.9 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 42.2% from the field and 36.9% from beyond the arc.

At the transfer level, Sanon remains a highly regarded prospect. Rivals ranks him as the No. 58 overall player in the portal and the No. 13 shooting guard, while 247Sports also lists him as a 4-star transfer. EvanMiya rates him as a 3-star prospect, ranking him No. 348 overall.

Coming out of high school, Sanon was a consensus 4-star recruit. ESPN ranked him No. 23 overall nationally, the No. 6 shooting guard, and the No. 1 player in the state of Vermont.
