Where NC State’s 3-Man Transfer Class Ranks Nationally and in the ACC After Kyle Evans’ Commitment

NC State picked up a massive commitment out of the transfer portal last night…literally.

UC Irvine forward Kyle Evans announced he will be running with the Wolfpack next season, giving NC State another major addition as Justin Gainey continues to build out his first roster.

With Evans now in the fold, NC State has secured three portal commitments, and all three are rated as 4-star transfer prospects:

Guard Christian Hammond (Santa Clara)
Guard Preston Edmead (Hofstra)
Forward Kyle Evans (UC Irvine)

It’s still early in the portal cycle, but the trajectory is clear.

NC State has added two high-level guards to anchor the backcourt and now a dominant rim protector to patrol the paint…a combination that’s starting to give this roster real shape.
