On playing with consistency…

“I think consistency comes with playing hard all the time.  That’s one of my focal points this offseason.  Going 100% whenever we step on the court, if we’re running, if we’re in the weight room.  I think if we practice 100% all of the time then it’s going to become a habit.  Being consistent is going to be a habit for us as well.  I’ve learned going 100% and trying 100% are different things.  I know what my limits are.  Before I would shy away from my limits because I was afraid of what was going to happen.  Now that I know what it takes to go a full 100%…I know what it feels like…and I know when I’m not going 100%.  I think we’re really going to focus on that this year.  In my head if I’m focused on going hard the entire time, then my body is going to follow and do it.”

On Cat Barber…

“Cat comes into this season with momentum.  He had a great string toward the end of the season last year.  Now he can just pick up where he left off.  We’re confident in him as our point guard, and one of our leaders as well.”

On what he’s been working on this offseason…

“I’ve been working on scoring with my back to the basket.  I’ve been focusing on free throws as well.  I’ll probably get fouled a lot this year.  I’ve been focusing really on my touch around the rim more and scoring more around the basket.”

On working on his three-point shot…

“I’ve always had that.  Nah.  I don’t need to shoot that one.  We have Maverick (Rowan) and Terry (Henderson) for that.  I can shoot it though.  You know what I’m saying.  Don’t be surprised when I pull one this year.”
