Former NC State infielder Joe Dunand (Alex Rodriguez’s nephew) hit his first home run as a professional baseball player last night for the GCL Marlins. In his first three games as a professional baseball player, he has gone a gaudy 5 for 9, with two doubles, 1 home run, 2 RBI, and 3 runs.

A-Rod took to Twitter last night to congratulate his nephew.

In Dunand’s Junior season at NC State, the slugger posted a batting average of .289, and slugged 18 home runs.

The Miami Marlins selected Dunand in the 2nd round of the 2017 MLB Draft with the 51st overall pick.
