On Monday night, lining up perfectly with Rivalry Week, NC State’s club hockey team took down UNC 5-3, in what was a fiery contest to say the least.

Here’s a look how things got chippy between the two teams. A UNC player takes a shot at NC State’s goalie in the final seconds of the game, and things escalate from there.

The dirty play by the Tar Heel player only affirmed the feelings that the Wolfpack goalie had for his rival before the game (He wrote GTHC on his stick).

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper was on hand to hand the Governor’s Cup Trophy to NC State.
