NC State Women’s Basketball Beats UNC 77-64 to Advance To ACC Tournament Quarterfinals

Heading into today’s matchup between the Lady Wolfpack and the Lady Tarheels, NC State had swept the regular season series.

Prior to the game, UNC Star Paris Kea embodied her inner Joel Berry, and reaffirmed the fact that NC State is not their rival.

Well, despite what Kea thinks, #5 seed NC State went ahead and beat their rival, #12 seed UNC, for the third time this season, defeating them 77-64, to advance to the Quarterfinals against #4 seed Duke.

Aislinn Konig shredded the nets with 5 three-pointers, and 19 points. Akela Maize had 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Kiara Leslie and Chelsea Nelson also scored in double figures, scoring 13 points a piece.

Tomorrow #23 NC State will face off against #18 Duke at 11am. The Blue Devils beat the Wolfpack in their one meeting this season, winning 59-56 at Cameron Indoor.
