VIDEO: Eric Lockett Talks After NC State Beat Pitt 86-80

Redshirt Graduate Senior Eric Lockett had his best game in a NC State uniform today, logging 17 points and 7 rebounds. He spoke with the media after the game. The video is ABOVE, and a bulleted breakdown is BELOW.

• When Wyatt and Markell were gone, we knew we were going to have to play harder. Try to get to the free throw line. They got to the line more than us in the first half, so we knew we needed to drive harder.
• We want to come out and win every game, but we definitely needed this one coming off of the loss to UNC. We wanted to get that bad taste out of our mouth of a game we knew we should have won. It definitely felt good for us to win today.
• I’m glad Coach Keatts trusts me to put me out there. He trusted me and put me out there to play. I was able to show him what I’m able to do.
• I’m always going to play my best basketball when I’m out there on the court. It’s a relief knowing I can still go out there and do that.
• Someone is always going to have to step up for us when we’re down. That just shows how deep we are as a team.
• DJ (Funderburk) is good at finding the sweet spots and creases in the zone.
