The streak continues.

NC State started hosting high school football players for camp on Thursday, and after having a player verbally commit on Day 1 (Stephen Gosnell) & 2 (Davin Vann), 3-Star Offensive Tackle Patrick Matan (6’4”/296) kept the streak alive today, verbally committing to run with the Pack.

Matan plays for Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. Rivals ranks Matan as the #11 overall player in the District of Columbia.

NC State offered Matan back on February 28th. Matan chose to run with the Wolfpack over offers from Louisville, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Maryland, Kansas, Rutgers, East Carolina and others.

3-Star 2020 Defensive Tackle Jaylen Smith decommitted from NC State yesterday.

A few weeks back, Smith cryptically tweeted that he was “open” raising some eyebrows, but then cleared the air that he was still committed. Two days before his decommitment, he picked up an offer from Oregon.

Smith marks the 4th player that has decommitted from NC State in the 2020 recruiting class:

4-Star Wide Receiver Nate McCollum (Georgia Tech)
3-Star Wide Receiver Stephen Gosnell (UNC)
3-Star Offensive Tackle Jonathan Adorno (UNC)
3-Star Defensive Tackle Jaylen Smith (?)

Rivals ranks Smith as the #15 player in the state of North Carolina (Hertford County).
