Redshirt Sophomore Punter Mackenzie Morgan our of Australia has decided to transfer from NC State.
After long consideration, I’ve decided to transfer from North Carolina State University so I can seek greater opportunity elsewhere.
I’m forever grateful to have been here & to have met the people I’ve met over the past year and a half.
Cheers & LUV ♥️ pic.twitter.com/D0mUsT35sO

Many expected Morgan to be the starting punter for the Wolfpack in 2019, but Redshirt Sophomore Trenton Gill earned a scholarship before the start of the season, and ultimately earned the starting job.
It’s understandable that Morgan decided to transfer. It doesn’t look like Gill has any plans on loosening his grip on the job. He is currently averaging 47.9 yards per punt, which ranks 2nd in the ACC, by only 0.4 yards per punt. Also, he is very likely to break Johnny Evans single season record at NC State for average yards per punt set back in 1975 (46.1).
