Sometimes you can look at a Box Score and shake your head.

Redshirt Senior Running Back Jordan Waters finished the game with 20 carries for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The 124 yards rushing set a new career high, ironically beating his 123 yards against NC State last year as a member of Duke.

What makes you shake your head, is that for a majority of the game, Waters quite simply wasn’t impressive, but his work on the final drive padded his stats in a massive way.

Waters racked up 95 of his 124 rushing yards on NC State’s final offensive drive, which was capped off by a 50-yard touchdown run by the Senior.

Prior to the final drive, Waters had carried the ball 16 times for 28 yards, averaging 1.75 yards per carry, which is far from what anyone expected heading into this game. When everything shook out, Waters averaged 6.2 yards per carry.

For the 6th time in his career, Waters rushed for 2 touchdowns in a game.
