Former NC State All-ACC Linebacker Isaiah Moore will coach the Linebackers for NC State in the Military Bowl against ECU on December 28th.

Tony Gibson was not only the Wolfpack’s Defensive Coordinator, but he also was the Linebacker Coach. With Gibson taking the job as Marshall’s new Head Coach, NC State needed someone to step up to coach the Linebackers for the Bowl Game.

Former NC State Linebacker Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay will be filling Gibson’s role as Interim Defensive Coordinator for the Bowl Game.

In Moore’s final season playing Linebacker for the Wolfpack, he had 82 tackles (4th on the team) and 15 tackles for loss (2nd on the team). He earned 2nd Team AP All-ACC honors in 2022.

Moore finished his career ranked 12th in school history in tackles (341), and 7th in tackles for loss (42.5).

After finishing his college career, Moore went undrafted, but found a spot on the Kansas City Chief’s Practice Squad. Unfortunately, in 2023 he suffered a season ending injury, but he still received a Super Bowl ring for being a part of the Chiefs’ team that won the 2024 Super Bowl against the 49ers.

Ultimately, Moore didn’t find an NFL home for the 2025 season, and came back to his alma mater to work in the Recruiting Department at NC State. He’s no longer listed as a member of the Football staff over at GoPack.com, but he’s obviously been serving in some sort of coaching role this season. Moore has been on the sideline all season long with a headset on.

This is an incredible opportunity for Moore, coaching the Linebackers for his alma mater in a Bowl Game, 2 years removed from his final season on the field.

Congrats Isaiah!
