NC State True Freshman Linebacker Cannon Lewis (6’2″/223) confirmed with me that he is entering the Transfer Portal.

As a True Freshman, Lewis saw action in 4 games this season, maintaining his redshirt season. He played in Special Teams in all 4 games, and saw action at Linebacker in the Wolfpack’s game against Stanford, making a tackle (9 snaps). On Special Teams, he played 50 snaps in 4 games, recording 1 tackle.

Lewis was a 3-star prospect in NC State’s 2024 recruiting class. ESPN ranked him as the #63 Inside Linebacker in his class, and Rivals ranked him as the #3 player in the state of West Virginia.

With Lewis being from West Virginia, and Tony Gibson taking the Head Coaching job at Marshall, who also was his Linebackers coach, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him head back home and join the Thundering Herd.

He has 4 years of eligibility remaining.

Lewis is the 1 of 11 NC State players to enter the Transfer Portal this year.
