#13 NC State (22-5/14-2) made the most of College Gameday coming to town, defeating #1 Notre Dame (24-3/15-1) 104-95 in dramatic fashion in double overtime.

The Wolfpack led for 32 minutes and 47 seconds out of 50 minutes, while the Fighting Irish led for only 7 minutes and 46 seconds.

NC State’s defense stifled one of the top-5 best shooting offenses in the land. Today, the Fighting Irish shot 41.2% from the field and 25.9% from beyond the arc. In contrast, the Wolfpack shot 45.6% from the field and 38.1% from three.

Notre Dame dominated the offensive glass, snagging 8 more rebounds than the Wolfpack, but they scored only one more second-chance point.

Despite turning the ball over 5 more times, the Wolfpack made the most of taking the ball away from the Irish, scoring 2 more points off turnovers.

NC State’s biggest advantage was at the free throw line, where they made an impressive 24 of 26 attempts, 16 more than Notre Dame.

The Wolfpack had 5 players score in double figures this afternoon, and at the top of the list was Sophomore Guard Zoe Brooks, who exploded for 33 points, surpassing her previous career high of 21 points. This marks the 1st time the Wolfpack have defeated a team ranked #1 in the AP Poll at home since 1978.
