According to James Henderson of Inside Pack Sports, NC State is no longer in the mix for Alabama Transfer Forward Derrion Reid (6’8″/220).

After entering the Portal, Reid took his first Official Visit to NC State on April 21st. After that he took an Official Visit to Oklahoma.

Reid didn’t get a ton of run as a Freshman this year, averaging 6 points and 2.8 boards in 24 games (3 starts), averaging only 14 minutes per game. He was a 5-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, with the 247Sports Composite ranking him as the #10 overall player nationally, the #2 Power Forward and the #1 player in the state of Georgia.

24Sports currently ranks Reid as a 4-star Portal Prospect, the #37 overall player in the Transfer Portal and the #7 Small Forward.

According to Henderson’s intel, the Wolfpack might have led for Reid, but after Houston Transfer Guard Terrance Arceneaux committed on Friday, the NC State coaching staff feels their wing needs have been filled.

I know there is speculation on Twitter from the burners that this intel is off, but I’ve known James for 15+ years, and in my opinion, there’s no one better when it comes to Wolfpack intel.

With all of this being said, in the world of recruiting, anything could still happen.

The Wolfpack has 4 more scholarship spots on their roster.

Who will be the next addition to NC State’s 2025-26 Men’s Basketball roster?

Louisville Transfer Center James Scott?

I know Henderson said that NC State is done at the wing position, but would Texas Tech Transfer Forward Darrion Williams be a take?

Will it be a mystery man we don’t know the name of yet?
