Former NC State Catcher Alex Sosa is transferring to Miami.

Sosa is heading back home, hailing from Viera, Florida.

He took a tremendous leap in Year 2, improving his batting average by 61 points.

This season, Sosa hit .291, with 10 Home Runs, 40 RBI’s, 43 Runs and 33 walks.

Coming out of high school, Perfect Game ranked Sosa as the #99 overall player nationally in the 2023 recruiting class, and the #8 catcher.

Sosa has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

15 NC State players have now entered the transfer portal since it opened. 8 have found new homes.
