NC State Catcher Alex Sosa is Entering the Transfer Portal

NC State Sophomore Catcher Alex Sosa is entering the Transfer Portal.

This is a major blow for the Wolfpack. There’s no other way to put it.

Sosa took a tremendous leap in Year 2, improving his batting average by 61 points.

This season, Sosa hit .291, with 10 Home Runs, 40 RBI’s, 43 Runs and 33 walks.

Coming out of high school, Perfect Game ranked Sosa as the #99 overall player nationally in the 2023 recruiting class, and the #8 catcher.

Sosa has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Junior Relief Pitcher Derrick Smith

Sophomore Relief Pitcher Jaxon Lucas, Redshirt Sophomore Catcher Drew Lanphere and Freshman Right-Handed Pitcher Aden Knowles

Junior Third Baseman Matt Heavner

Freshman Outfielder Trey Bentley and Sophomore Outfielder Jet Gilliam

Redshirt Junior Pitcher Jacob Dienes, Junior Pitcher Eli Pillsbury and Sophomore Outfielder Jake Bechtel.
