The NC State Women’s Basketball team might not be ranked in the AP Top-25 currently, but they are clearly playing like one of the Top-25 best teams in college basketball these days. Yesterday, the Wolfpack improved to 3-0 in ACC play, demolishing Stanford 74-46 in Reynolds Coliseum.

The Cardinals’ 46 points is the lowest an opponent has scored against NC State this season.

Junior Guard Zoe Brooks had her best game since December 3rd, leading the Pack with 18 points, 6 assists and 3 steals, making 6 of her 13 shots.

Sophomore Forward Tilda Trygger also had her best game since December 3rd’s overtime loss to Oklahoma in the ACC/SEC Challenge, finishing with 12 points and a team-high 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Sophomore Guard Zam Jones and Junior Forward Khamil Pierre both chipped in 10 points each. Jones struggled to shoot the ball, making only 5 of her 16 shots. Pierre was efficient, making 4 of 8, while also pulling down 7 boards.

On the day, the Wolfpack shot well on all three levels, making 46.7% from the field, 44.4% from three and 82.4% from the free throw line.

NC State’s defense was smothering, holding Stanford to 30% shooting from the field and 17.4% from beyond the arc.

The Wolfpack covered the 9.5-point spread with ease, winning by 28.

NC State is currently riding a 5-game winning streak, and has defeated all three conference opponents by an average of 27.6 points.
