According to Sam Kayser, NC State recently held a Zoom meeting with Boston transfer guard Chance Gladden (6’4”, 185 pounds).

Kayser also reports that Gladden has official visits scheduled this week with Ole Miss and Notre Dame.

Gladden is coming off an impressive freshman season at Boston, where he earned Third Team All-Patriot League honors along with a spot on the All-Freshman Team. He averaged 14.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47.6% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range.

According to Rivals, Gladden is rated as a 4-star transfer prospect, ranked as the No. 163 overall player in the portal and the No. 13 combo guard.

A familiar name in the area, Gladden is a Raleigh native who played his high school basketball at Ravenscroft. As a senior, he averaged 29 points per game after putting up 26 per game as a junior.

Gladden has three years of eligibility remaining.

With strong early production and local ties, Gladden is shaping up to be a name to watch in NC State’s portal pursuits.
