Charleston Southern guard Brycen Blaine (6’5”, 205 pounds) has scheduled an official visit to NC State for next week, according to Sam Kayser.

Before making his way to Raleigh, Blaine will also take official visits to East Carolina and Utah.

Kayser also reports that Blaine has drawn interest from Pittsburgh, DePaul, Clemson, Wichita State, George Mason, Towson, Fordham, High Point, and Liberty.

Blaine is coming off a breakout season at Charleston Southern, where he averaged 17.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

His path to this point hasn’t been a straight line.

Originally a high school prospect out of Richmond, Virginia, Blaine began his college career at James Madison. After appearing in just two games as a true freshman, he redshirted the following season due to injury before eventually moving to the JUCO level at Gulf Coast State.

In his lone JUCO season, Blaine averaged 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting an impressive 42.7% from three-point range.

This past season, he showed he can score in bunches, recording 10 games of 20+ points.

His standout performance came against The Citadel on November 10, when he exploded for 42 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists, knocking down 8 of 13 attempts from beyond the arc.

Now, after a full breakout year, Blaine is one of the more intriguing scoring wings in the portal, and NC State will get its shot to make an impression on campus.
